regeneration Campus Visioning Day

Join us for a New Campus Visioning Day on Saturday, September 25, 2021! 12pm-7pm

All-Day Celebration and Community Visioning

You’re invited to an all-day outdoor event to reimagine and reclaim community space. Connect, play, plan, eat, and dream with us as we envision a collective future for our new home at 59 N. Front Street in Hudson. Help us design a new building and campus on North Front Street for youth liberation, joy, and leadership! Food, games, music, workshops, visioning + more!

The ReGeneration Project

The Kite’s Nest ReGeneration Project is a bold local response to the complex challenges facing our communities. We are transforming a two-acre riverfront property in Hudson into a community campus for education, youth leadership, and environmental justice. Our goals are to support young people to thrive, cultivate youth leaders, and build community power with a permanent home that includes transformative learning environments and an ecological campus. We are centering community in the planning process, with the intention of ultimately creating a building and campus that is directly informed by the needs, hopes, ideas, and visions of our youth, neighbors, and partners.

Spatial Justice Stewards

The Spatial Justice Stewards are the community advisory board for the ReGeneration Project. The stewards collectively represent the perspectives of long-time Hudson residents, Kite’s Nest parents, Kite’s Nest youth and alumni, the Bangladeshi community of River City gardeners, Kite’s Nest educators and staff, and neighbors of the site at 59 N. Front St. Each of them is a stakeholder directly impacted by development and change in Hudson.  They are memory-keepers who will remain throughout the duration of the project, from conceptual design through construction and move-in, informing decisions from a values-guided perspective.

Project Tracker + Community Reflection Tool

This art installation lives along the fence just outside the River City Garden. Created in partnership with Sunny Allis, this interactive art tool is an offering to the community for learning, playing, and dreaming about the future of 59 N. Front Street. Check out the Time-O-Meter for updates on where we are along the Regeneration Project timeline, or respond to the prompts that guide you through listening to the land, exploring your memories of Hudson, and setting intentions and wishes for our community.

Invite your friends and neighbors!

Your perspective is valued! We hope you’ll join us for New Campus Visioning Day, where you’ll be invited to learn about the ReGeneration Project and shape the future of North Front Street by participating in workshops and visioning activities, playing carnival games, and contributing to a sense of celebration and belonging. Tell your friends and neighbors that their voices are welcome at 59 N. Front Street on Saturday, September 25, 2021. See schedule of activities below!
*Masks are required at this outdoor event and Covid-19 precautions will be in place.
